A couple dreams
Posted on 11. Jul, 2010 by Tobias in Dreams
I have a couple recurring dreams that just frighten me to death.
1) Driving in a car, while attempting to press on the breaks, the car keeps on moving. I am just waiting/expecting the car to crash and every second is so excruciating.
2) I touch my teeth and they fall out, one by one just like dominos.

awww, the 2nd dream is bad in Chinese cultures =/
But usually it means your teeth are sensitive. Ate anything sour and cold before you sleep?

In 1) it's likely that you stress over something or many things that are out of your control in your life. Sometimes we have to train our brain to acknowledge that we have more control than we think. One could try the handbrake, shift the gear to neutral, turn the ignition key to the off position, jump out of the car, etc. Ultimately it's your life and you're where you are, doing whatever you're doing, because you've wanted to be there… Otherwise you would have jumped out of the car a long time ago.
In 2)… I've had this dream a lot before too. To me this one is more terrifying than the car dream. It is said in many Hispanic cultures that this dream is a warning of a loved one's poor health or passing away. But, since I don't believe in folk tales, I'd say it's more likely to represent a fear of losing power or a lack of self confidence. In any case, you're not alone; Apparently this is one of the most common dreams!
